Prismatic, 2023 MaDora Frey
Materials: Steel, wood, rope, glass, plexiglass mirror
Dimensions: 193” x 118” x 118”
“Prismatic” offers visitors a moment of wonderment along the path of the Roswell Corridor. From afar, the mirror-clad exterior of the sculpture reflects lush greenery and sky.
Viewers are invited to walk beneath and gaze up into the interior. An assemblage of reflective materials and space age films within create a kaleidoscope in which the viewer finds their own image reflected, refracted, and merged with the landscape.
A dynamic pink and gold film adds a psychedelic and feminine rose colored tinting to the environment, hinting at the transcendent and restorative powers that can be found when experiencing the outdoors.
