Call for Public Art Consultants - Call closes February 15, 2025 at 11:59 pm
Roswell Arts Fund is seeking experienced public art consultants based in or near Roswell, Georgia, who can provide both remote and in-person support for public art initiatives. While much of the work can be completed remotely, consultants must be willing and able to conduct on-site visits for project assessments and installations. Consultants’ work may be compensated on a flat-fee or hourly basis, depending on the project.
Potential responsibilities include:
- Draft Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and/ or Qualifications (RFQs) for public art projects
- Evaluate artist submissions with a keen eye for artistic merit and project feasibility
- Facilitate selection panel discussions
- Manage project timelines and milestones
- Serve as liaison for artist and installer
- Oversee artwork installation, ensuring safety and quality
- Provide expert advice on artwork maintenance and conservation
Qualifications:
- Minimum 3 years’ experience in public art project management
- Proven track record of successful public art installations
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and facilitation skills
- Understanding of technical aspects of fabrication and installation for various mediums
- Familiarity with public art policies, contracts, and legal considerations
- Helpful: Strong network of local/regional artists, fabricators, and installers

Have you ever looked at Sentience in the Heart of Canton Street or Ask the Fish at Don White or the Ribbon bike racks at Riverside Park and wondered, “Who decided to put that there?” Answer: a selection panel made up of community members just like you!
The Public Art Program is seeking interested community members, artists, and arts professionals who live or work in Roswell to be involved in this exciting process*.
Each Selection Panel is comprised of a minimum of eight voting members with additional members added depending on the scope of the project. It is the role of the voting panelists to make decisions as a group concerning the final selection of the artist or artist team.
