You may have heard a lot of buzz around this piece. Will Darnell’s Vector
is a deceptively intricate expression of the joy and beauty to be found in nature. Darnell’s body of work explores the concept of scale. Similar to viewing a starry night helps us understand the universe just well enough to know that we are small, his sculptures illustrate simply that on a galactic scale we are the same size as beings we consider minuscule.
Never afraid of bold imagery, Vector celebrates the triumph of the hive, the joy of a group coming together for a common goal. Located at Old Mill Park, a place central to Roswell’s foundation, it encourages us to look at what we have accomplished as a community using our natural resources for the greater good. It also asks us not to forget where those resources came from and to preserve them for future generations.
